Earlier in the trial, Cassie testified that Combs introduced her to rapper Kid Cudi around 2011 for a potential music collaboration. While she and Combs were on a break, she began dating Cudi and used a burner phone to keep their relationship private. “I thought it would be way too dangerous to tell him about that,” she said. According to Cassie, Combs eventually found out during one of their so-called “freak-offs” when he went through her phone. She claimed he became enraged and lunged at her but didn’t make physical contact.

Cassie also described the emotional toll of being in a relationship where other women were frequently involved. “It happened often enough that I don’t know that I would remember every single one,” she testified. She confirmed that one woman in particular, referred to as “Gina”, was a repeated issue in their relationship.

Legal analyst Areva Martin noted that the defense’s strategy was to portray Cassie as a consenting participant. “A big part of their case is trying to get this jury to believe that Cassie Ventura was a consenting adult in these sexual acts,” Martin told CNN. She added that the prosecution is expected to argue Cassie was coerced into the acts as the relationship became increasingly violent.

Morgan testified that she’s witnessed Diddy assault Cassie on multiple occasions. She even alleges that Diddy once struck her in an attempt to find out who Cassie was “cheating” on him with.

Morgan recalls visiting Cassie’s home, and listening to music when Combs walked into the living room where she was sitting. As Cassie was in the restroom, Diddy came up behind Morgan, chocked her and hit her on the side of her head with a wooden hanger. She says she sought medical attention following the alleged assault and was diagnosed with a concussion.

⁠Morgan says she hired an attorney following the incident, however, she decided not to press charges against the music mogul. He instead offering her $30,000 and signed an NDA. She says since that incident she has never spoken to Cassie again.

After Cassie’s conclusion of her testimony in the Diddy trial, last week, the model released a statement via her attorney.

“I hope that my testimony has given strength and a voice to other survivors, and can help others who have suffered to speak up and also heal from abuse and fear,” Cassie said, per TMZ. “For me, the more I heal, the more I can remember. And the more I can remember, the more I will never forget.”

The songstress says she’s “glad to put this chapter of my life to rest as I turn to focus on the conclusion of my pregnancy.”

In the statement, her husband, Alex Fine, also shared his sentiments following the emotional four-day testimony. “I have felt tremendous pride and overwhelming love for Cass,” he wrote. “I have felt profound anger that she has been subjected to sitting in front of a person who tried to break her.”

“You did not break her spirit nor her smile,” he said. “I did not save Cassie, as some have said. To say that is an insult to the years of painful work my wife has done to save herself. Cassie saved Cassie,” he wrote. “She alone broke free from abuse, coercion, violence, and threats. She did the work of fighting the demons that only a demon himself could have done to her.”

Cassie’s alleged relationship with Jordan was brought up during cross-examination by Anna Estevao, Diddy’s lawyer, on Thursday. While on the stand, Estevao asked if Diddy “suspected” she had an affair after they broke up. At the time, Cassie and Diddy were filming Honey 3: Dare to Dance in South Africa.

“Mr. Combs suspected you of having a relationship with whom?” Estevao asked, to which Cassie responded, “Michael B. Jordan,” according to Inner City Press reporter Matthew Russell Lee’s trial transcripts.

According to Cassie, the romance with Jordan was sparked after she discovered that Diddy was allegedly with one of his on-off girlfriends. At the time, she was filming a movie in South Africa.

Cassie also testified that she ended communication with Diddy for some time and began dating the Sinners actor.

When asked how Diddy reacted to the relationship with Jordan, Cassie said, “I wasn’t there to see it.”

She also testified that she couldn’t remember if Diddy tried to text her about Jordan, but “he did try to make contact.”

In her civil lawsuit against Diddy, Cassie’s relationship with Jordan was first mentioned along with Kid Cudi. The suit alleged that Diddy threatened to blow up Cudi’s car in front of his friends.

Jordan’s name also came up during jury selection before the trial.

Combs is charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty.

If found guilty, Diddy faces life in prison.

The development follows claims made by Diddy’s former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, who alleged in a lawsuit that Diddy once “blew up” Kid Cudi’s car in a fit of jealousy.

According to the lawsuit, Combs became enraged upon learning that Cassie was romantically involved with Kid Cudi. “Mr. Combs grew so angry about her dating the rapper Kid Cudi that he said he would blow up the rapper’s car,” the filing states. It further alleges that shortly thereafter, “Kid Cudi’s car exploded in his driveway.”

Kid Cudi, through a spokesperson, has since confirmed the incident, stating, “This is all true.”

Cassie is currently eight-and-a-half months pregnant with her and Fine’s third child. The couple have been married since 2019. The pair share two daughters, 5-year-old Frankie and 4-year-old Sunny. With a baby boy on the way.

While testifying during Diddy’s criminal trial, Cassie briefly recalls, “we were having a freak-off in one of [Diddy’s] homes in LA and he said Suge was at Mel’s Diner, and we packed up and drove down there,” Cassie claimed, according to NBC. “I was screaming and crying, ‘Please don’t do anything stupid.’ I didn’t know what they were going to do.”

“It’s like I wasn’t even there,” Cassie added.

Cassie testified that Combs orchestrated “freak-offs”—drug fueled sexual encounters with male escorts that he directed and filmed. These sessions, which reportedly began when she was 22.

Beyond the orchestrated encounters, Cassie recounted instances of physical violence, including being struck and dragged by her hair. She also testified about Combs’ control over her appearance and music career, as well as threats and intimidation tactics. In one particularly disturbing account, she described a video shown in court depicting Combs assaulting her in 2016.

Prior to this gag order attempt, Cassie’s lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, spoke on the case, although the statements Wigdor made were primarily about the video of Diddy assaulting his former partner. Wigdor stated, “The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs. Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light.” Furthermore, the renowned lawyer Lisa Bloom, who formerly represented Harvey Weinstein, has made appearances in two documentaries about the mogul and spoken out against Diddy’s allegations.

Diddy’s team claims unfair prep time as prosecutors accuse him of stalling

Despite the seriousness of Diddy’s charges, his legal team has been fiercely defending him. In a recent legal filing, the mogul requested to discard certain pieces of evidence from the jury. Court documents reveal that Diddy asserted his prosecutors were late when delivering evidence, leaving him and his attorneys feeling slightly underprepared for his defense.

In the court documents, Diddy’s lawyers said, “It is impossible for the defense to investigate and respond to those new allegations in the next two weeks.” They further alleged that the prosecution also “conceded” that “many” of the supposed sex crimes were “consensual.” Prosecutors quickly fired back, claiming that Diddy had months to review the evidence and that his recent legal filings are simply just attempts to delay the trial date.

Cassie and her legal team argued the documents had no relevance to the case, but Judge Arun Subramanian ruled otherwise, allowing Diddy’s lawyers to review any manuscript versions already in the hands of federal prosecutors. However, the judge did reject Diddy’s broader push to obtain Cassie’s personal diaries, emails, notes, and financial records.

Diddy’s attorneys believe the contents of the unpublished book could contain conflicting details compared to Cassie’s public and legal claims about their past relationship. According to them, Cassie allegedly once told Diddy she wrote a memoir and offered to sell it to him for $30 million to keep it from being released.Both Cassie and Diddy have remained silent publicly following the judge’s decision.

Meanwhile, in preparation for the trial, Diddy’s legal team has submitted a sworn deposition from forensic expert Conor McCourt. The expert questioned the legitimacy of surveillance footage published by CNN, as well as an iPhone recording that captured the footage being played back. Prosecutors have not directly responded to McCourt’s claims but previously stated that they are in possession of the original video.

The draft manuscript, now set to be reviewed by Diddy’s legal team, is expected to become a key point of scrutiny as the case moves forward. More developments are likely as both sides continue to prepare for the trial.
