On February 4, Jordan, 37, shared the trailer for Magazine Dreams on his Instagram Stories, adding two applause emojis and three fire emojis in a comment. The upcoming film marks Majors’ first leading role since starring alongside Jordan in 2023’s Creed III.

Majors, 35, played a childhood friend of Michael B. Jordan’s Adonis Creed, re-entering his life after a long stint in prison. The film, which also served as Jordan’s directorial debut, was among several high-profile projects that positioned Majors as one of Hollywood’s rising stars. Early 2023 saw him in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Marvel’s Loki, and Magazine Dreams, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.

However, his career took a sharp turn in March 2023 when he was arrested in New York City following an alleged altercation with ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. In December, a jury delivered a split verdict, convicting him of misdemeanor assault and harassment while acquitting him of two other charges. As a result, Majors was ordered to complete a domestic violence intervention program.

His legal troubles led to his dismissal from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he was set to portray Kang the Conqueror in multiple upcoming Avengers films. However, in November 2024, Jabbari dropped her assault and defamation lawsuit against him, with both parties agreeing to dismiss all claims.

Despite the turmoil, Jordan and Majors’ bond has remained strong. While promoting Creed III, Majors frequently called Michael B. Jordan his “brother” and honored him at his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in March 2023, just weeks before his arrest. Jordan, in turn, publicly praised Majors, even suggesting he should be a contender for PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive.

In Magazine Dreams, Majors plays Killian Maddox, a bodybuilder consumed by his relentless pursuit of perfection. The official synopsis describes his “lonely, regimented life” and the self-destructive path he follows in his desperate search for human connection.

Set for release on March 21, the film will be Jonathan Majors’ first since his final appearance in Loki on Disney+ in 2023. He is also reportedly attached to Merciless, a revenge thriller directed by Martin Villeneuve, marking his first project since his conviction.

According to reports, the inclusion of Jordan’s name stems from his brief “romantic involvement with”flirtatious” relationship with Combs’ ex-girlfriend, Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura, in 2015.

Ventura has accused Combs of sex trafficking and domestic violence in a lawsuit filed in November 2023. According to Ventura’s complaint, Combs became enraged upon learning of her relationship with Jordan, allegedly threatening him. This past connection led to Jordan’s mention during the jury selection process. 

The trial, which commenced on May 5, 2025, involves Combs facing multiple federal charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution. Prosecutors allege that Combs operated a criminal enterprise through his record label, Bad Boy Records, and orchestrated coercive sexual events known as “freak offs.” Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges and has been held in federal custody since his arrest in September 2024. If convicted, he could face life imprisonment.

The jury selection process has been meticulous, with potential jurors being questioned about their familiarity with various celebrities, including Michael B. Jordan. This approach aims to ensure impartiality, given the high-profile nature of the case and the extensive media coverage surrounding it. While Jordan’s name was mentioned due to his past relationship with Ventura, he is not anticipated to play a role in the trial itself. 

As the trial progresses, the focus will remain on the legal proceedings and the evidence presented, with the aim of achieving a fair and just outcome.

Cassie’s alleged relationship with Jordan was brought up during cross-examination by Anna Estevao, Diddy’s lawyer, on Thursday. While on the stand, Estevao asked if Diddy “suspected” she had an affair after they broke up. At the time, Cassie and Diddy were filming Honey 3: Dare to Dance in South Africa.

“Mr. Combs suspected you of having a relationship with whom?” Estevao asked, to which Cassie responded, “Michael B. Jordan,” according to Inner City Press reporter Matthew Russell Lee’s trial transcripts.

According to Cassie, the romance with Jordan was sparked after she discovered that Diddy was allegedly with one of his on-off girlfriends. At the time, she was filming a movie in South Africa.

Cassie also testified that she ended communication with Diddy for some time and began dating the Sinners actor.

When asked how Diddy reacted to the relationship with Jordan, Cassie said, “I wasn’t there to see it.”

She also testified that she couldn’t remember if Diddy tried to text her about Jordan, but “he did try to make contact.”

In her civil lawsuit against Diddy, Cassie’s relationship with Jordan was first mentioned along with Kid Cudi. The suit alleged that Diddy threatened to blow up Cudi’s car in front of his friends.

Jordan’s name also came up during jury selection before the trial.

Combs is charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty.

If found guilty, Diddy faces life in prison.

It was announced on Friday (Jan. 19) that award-winning filmmaker Ryan Coogler and actor Michael B. Jordan would reunite after eight years for a new film, Untitled, under Coogler’s Proximity Media. The original film is a secret project writte by Coogler who will direct with Jordan set to lead.

The upcoming film is an original idea by Coogler and the first spec script under his media company. The untitled project will be produced by Coogler-himself,  Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian. No official date on the film’s release.

Coogler and Jordan’s film journey began in 2013 with Jordan starring in Coogler’s debut major motion picture, Fruitvale Station. The two would go on to direct and star in the Black Panther and Creed franchise in the last decade. Michael B. Jordan would make a surprise cameo in the Wakanda Forever (2022).

Michael B. Jordan is set to direct Creed 4, which is currently in early development. The franchise also stars actress Tessa Thompson (“Thor: Love & Thunder). Michael is also set to star in the I Am Legend sequel with Will Smith.

While the untitled film will be Coogler’s next release, he is also developing a Wakanda Forever-based television series for Disney/Marvel Cinematic Universe, and rumors third installment in the Black Panther franchise.

Michael B. Jordan visited Hot 97 last March, where he spoke on his Newark, New Jersey upbringing, making I Am Legend 2 with Will Smith, black films, and more with Ebro, Laura Stylez, and Peter Rosenberg.

There has been past speculation that Will Smith and Michael B. Jordan were working on a project together, and during a recent conference, Will confirmed that speculation. ”I have a call with Michael B. Jordan tomorrow. The script just came in… I’m probably giving away too much information…”

Will’s character, Robert Neville, died in the first film at the end, however, an alternate ending was created for DVD which showed his character surviving. ”We’re going with the mythology of the DVD version where my character lived…I can’t tell you any more but Michael B. Jordan is in and we’re doing it.”

In a recent interview with GQ, the Black Panther star described the situation as “tough,” referring to the claims made by Majors’ former girlfriend.

“But he’s doing great and just got engaged,” Jordan said. “I’m really proud of his strength and resilience through it all, and how he’s handled everything. I’m glad he’s doing well. That’s my boy.”

When asked about the possibility of collaborating with Majors again, Jordan responded enthusiastically, saying, “Yes. Yes.”

Jonathan Majors was convicted in 2023 of domestic assault and harassment against his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. Majors didn’t face any jail time, and was later sentenced to a year of domestic violence counseling.

The actor is set to make a splash on the big screen in the upcoming film Magazine Dreams. Jonathan Majors will take on the role of Killian Maddox, a man consumed by his ambition to become a world-renowned bodybuilder.

On Tuesday, Jan. 28, Warner Bros. released a new trailer for Sinners and Jordan is playing twins. Rounding out the cast are Hailee Steinfeld, Delroy Lindo, Wunmi Mosaku, Omar Miller, Jayme Lawson, and Jack O’Connell.

The synopsis reads, “Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.”

The film is Coogler’s first since the global blockbuster Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was released in theatres in 2022. It also marks another collaboration between Coogler and Jordan. Previously, they’ve worked together on Fruitvale Station, Creed, and the first Black Panther.

At a virtual press conference on Monday, Jan. 27, Coogler said that Sinners was “partially inspired by his family’s history in Mississippi.”

“The seed of it started with that relationship with my uncle,” Coogler said. “He would listen to blues music all the time and he would only talk about Mississippi when he was listening to that music. He had a profound effect on my life, and I got a chance to kind of dig into my own ancestral history with this film. It’s been extremely rewarding.”

Coogler noted that he and Jordan have a similar relationship that Martin Scorsese has with Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio. Also, he shared how 

“All of my favorite filmmakers have those relationships, and it makes it easier, man. It’s hard to make a movie, bro,” Coogler explained. “It’s hard to lead a film, to be an actor in these films, and when you have somebody who it clicks with. And somebody who understands you, who gets you, and somebody who it doesn’t feel like work all the time. Then what we went through with losing Chadwick, man, it made us both, I think, appreciate each other even more.”

Sinners premieres in theaters on April 18.

These individuals—called Filí in ancient Ireland, Firekeepers in Choctaw tradition, and Griots in West Africa—were seen as vessels of divine sound. They could heal, connect generations, and summon spirits. But such a gift, the text warns, attracts darkness.

This mystical idea drives the film’s opening scenes, where music serves not just as a motif but as a lure—for vampires and other entities hungry for power.

It invites fans not just to watch—but to dig, to decode, and to uncover the myth beneath the music.

During a recent appearance on Apple Music’s “The Dotty Show,” the “How Does It Feel” singer couldn’t stop blushing when speaking about the Black Panther star. “I’ll say it. Michael B. Jordan is my celebrity crush,” Bailey admitted. “I’ve been said that in interviews, even like, years ago.”

“But have you told him?,” British host and rapper Amplify Dot asked her, to which she replied, “No… I don’t shoot my shot.” Amplify Dot then told the Atlanta native that she should “DM” Jordan “right now” or else she could be blocking her blessings. “I’m big on blessings, but I’m like God will bring my blessings to me when they’re supposed to be here,” Bailey added. “But, when we try to force it, we could block other blessings.”
