Things didn’t improve once she hit the stage, as the event organizers cut off her microphone just five minutes into the performance due to a strict 12:30 a.m. curfew. Despite continuing to perform, her set went silent, and Ice Spice, visibly frustrated, paced the stage to a chorus of boos before flashing a peace sign and walking off.

In response to the criticism, Wildlands Festival organizers took to Instagram to explain their decision. “We understand that Ice Spice’s delayed arrival caused some disappointment. Managing a stacked festival means we have to be extremely firm with set times,” they stated. They further clarified that the 12:30 a.m. curfew was crucial to ensure the final act could perform on schedule and the New Year’s Eve countdown could proceed as planned.
