Ty Dolla $ign is not here for the hate. The California artist took to his Instagram Story on Tuesday to make his stance clear, sharing a message of unity and love. “I do not condone ANY form of hate speech against ANYONE,” he wrote, accompanied by emojis in multiple skin tones.
While he didn’t mention Kanye West directly, the timing of his statement raises eyebrows. West, who now goes by Ye, is once again at the center of controversy. Over the weekend, he posted a series of antisemitic and hateful messages on X. His comments have drawn widespread backlash, leading to real-world consequences.
Ye and Ty have been frequent collaborators, most recently teaming up for their Vultures series in 2024. Vultures 1 debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and produced the hit single “Carnival” featuring Playboi Carti and Rich the Kid. A follow-up, Vultures 2, continued their joint creative streak, with even more music expected in 2025. Tyga recently previewed an unreleased track featuring the duo, hinting at what’s next.
However, as West’s actions continue to stir outrage, companies and public figures are distancing themselves. Shopify shut down his Yeezy website after he attempted to sell a swastika T-shirt. His X account is now deactivated.
Celebrities and industry figures have spoken out against his rhetoric, including the Anti-Defamation League, David Schwimmer, Charlie Puth, and Lyor Cohen. Cohen issued a direct plea to Ye, writing, “With antisemitism on the rise, your voice and influence carry a significant responsibility. I urge you to be more sensitive to the pain your words inflict on Jewish communities and all those who stand against hate.”
