As a shift in the pop music and entertainment world happens, one of those text threads has become the motivation behind the latest diss track by Bhad Bhabie directed toward none other than Alabama Barker. The track, called “Ms. Whitman,” includes a sample from a song called “Carnival” by Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) and Ty Dolla $ign—setting off speculation about the presence of the iconic rapper.
The plot thickened when Bhabie went on Instagram Live and apparently previewed a verse credited to Ye. This unlikely team-up raised eyebrows for hip-hop heads who speculated that it was Ye’s not-so-subtle shot at ex-wife Kim Kardashian. However, the speculation was short-lived as the rapper quickly distanced himself from the issue, asserting that he had no involvement in the verse in question, only approving the use of the sample and claiming that artificial intelligence had created the lines.
Bhad Bhabie Denies AI Leak as Ye Backs Away
Bhad Bhabie gave us a glimpse into the matter during a recent call with DDG. “A member of my team went live on my Instagram late at night and played the AI-generated verse, which made everyone think it was mine,” she said. “As a matter of fact I’ve never done a live session in which my face was not visible, so it makes no sense why I would do that now.” “When Kanye said it was an AI verse, I heard that and I was like, yeah, right,” Bhabie added. “But I didn’t leak it. Someone figured it might create hype for the song.”
In a clip from Bhad Bhabie’s stream, also timestamped at 4:09, she explained how the song was cleared. “Kanye cleared it,” she said. “I contacted his wife, Bianca, and sent her the track. She loved it and said she would talk to him. Ten minutes later, she wrote that he had passed it.”
Yeezy then commented on the matter saying he wasn’t involved in anything about AI-generated stuff. “I don’t want to be anywhere near any of this AI drama,” he said. “I literally just got a request to clear a sample. My foremost concern always is to see my work presented justly, especially because I am frequently met with roadblocks when it comes to clearances.”
