Latto’s new single “Somebody” comes with a video that feels like a full-on travel ad, showcasing the Atlanta rapper enjoying a tropical getaway in Jamaica. The visuals include everything you’d expect for a laid-back vibe: drifting down a calm river on a bamboo raft, soaking in vibrant green landscapes, and rocking one of the tiniest bikinis you’ll see all year. Latto knows her brand and fully embraces it here. The video is directed by her sister, Brooklyn Nikole, and even features a cameo from Jamaican artist Popcaan.

“Somebody” is Latto’s first solo track of 2025, following her highly praised album Sugar Honey Iced Tea and its singles like “Big Mama,” “Brokey,” and “Blick Sum.” Fans are hoping this new release hints at a deluxe version of the album or even a fresh full-length project. Either way, after a slower year for big rap names, more music from Latto would be a welcome boost. She’s currently on a European tour, with stops in the UK, France, Berlin, Amsterdam, and more.

The song itself is a warm, sunny ode to summer romance, fitting perfectly with the carefree video. It creatively samples Aaliyah’s 1998 hit “Are You That Somebody?” On the chorus, Latto flips the classic into a modern expression of desire: “I ain’t never tell nobody / All I want is you, boy, all I want is you / All I need is you, boy, all I need is you / It’s just me and you boy, it’s just me and you / I really need somebody / Tell me you’re that somebody.” This fresh take blends nostalgia with Latto’s confident style, making “Somebody” a standout track for the season.
