Along with his birthday, Jamie Foxx is also celebrating the release of his Netflix special, What Had Happened Was. Throughout the heartfelt stand-up show, Foxx treks through his recent health battles. The actor and comedian revealed that a stroke is behind the issue due and issue to a brain bleed. Foxx also talked about his health journey in July during a gathering with close friends. A video of the conversation later circulates on social media.

He recounts how he took an Advil for a headache on April 11 and woke up 20 days later with no memory of what had happened. “Look, April 11th last year, I [had] [a] bad headache [and] asked my boy for an Advil [clicks fingers], [and] I was gone for 20 days. I don’t remember anything,” Foxx revealed. He mentioned that his sister and daughter took him to a doctor in Atlanta, who indicated something was wrong. “The next doctor said, ‘There’s something going on up there,'” he added, pointing to his head, but chose not to elaborate further on camera.

According to Hot97, on Tuesday (Dec. 10), reports surfaced that an alleged altercation involving Jamie Foxx occurred at a Los Angeles restaurant, leaving him with stitches. According to TMZ, while celebrating his 57th birthday at Mr. Chow’s, he got into a confrontation with a group across from his table. According to witnesses, the other customers were rude to the comedian. When Jamie Foxx asked the group to stop, in light of his family’s presence, they refused. Sources say that someone in the group responded to Foxx’s plea with a glass to his face.

Jamie Foxx had to honor of walking his daughter, Corinne, down the aisle this weekend.

Jamie’s former co-star, Garcelle Beauvais, shared a carousel of pictures via Instagram. She captioned the since-deleted wedding photos, “Last night we got to witness & celebrate the love of @corinnefoxx and @joe.hooten.”

“Your love & respect for each other is palpable. Corinne you looked stunning,” she added.

Corinne married Joe Hooten, whom she describes as her “forever.” A video of Foxx walking his baby girl down the aisle, has since gone viral.

Foxx has seemingly been on the up-and-up after his 2023 health scare.

Earlier this month, the comedian announced his upcoming show, One More Chance: An Evening with Jamie Foxx, set to take place in Atlanta from October 3 to 5. 

The performance will give fans an inside look at the health incident. He shares the news via Instagram and captions it, “Join us for an unforgettable one-man show as Jamie Foxx takes the stage to share his journey through a serious health scare, filled with humor, heart, and inspiration!”

Jamie Foxx is gearing up to release his new stand-up comedy special.

Titled “Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was…” the highly-anticipated event will premiere on Netflix on Dec. 10.

It’s been more than two decades since the Oscar winner dropped a special.

In a trailer that debuted on Friday, Nov.1, Foxx shared, “I said, ‘If I can stay funny, I can stay alive.” 

Foxx shared the theme of his show which was recorded over three nights in Atlanta in October on Instagram.

“Join us for an unforgettable one-man show as Jamie Foxx takes the stage to share his journey through a serious health scare, filled with humor, heart, and inspiration! He opens up about his struggles, triumphs, and everything in between. Get ready for a night of laughter, reflection, and genuine connection,” the post read.

In April 2023, rumors of Foxx being gravely ill began to spread. According to his daughter Corrine, the medical emergency took place while he was filming Back In Action in Atlanta. The illness forced him to take a sabbatical as host of the Fox game show “Beat Shazam.”

“We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” Corrine wrote at the time. “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.”

Posting in July 2023, Foxx showed his appreciation for his daughter and sister for their support saying they “saved my life.”

“First of all, I wanna say thank you to everybody that prayed, man, and sent me messages. I cannot even begin to tell you how far it took me and how it brought me back,” Foxx said.

In October, Foxx shared his excitement about returning to stand-up comedy.

He wrote: “God is good. As I post these pictures, my heart and my soul is filled with nothing but pure joy. October 3 fourth and fifth I had an opportunity to tell my side of the story and there was no better place than Atlanta Georgia.”

In a statement to AllHipHop, Diddy’s team reportedly say the claims are “outlandish, ridiculous and baseless.” 

According to reports, Jamie Foxx reportedly spoke on Diddy during the filming of his upcoming Netflix special, “What Had Happened Was.” An attendee claimed that Foxx talked about Diddy allegedly having to do something with his mysterious health scare and hospitalization. 

Videographer Choke No Joke was at the taping and claimed that Foxx claimed that “Diddy was responsible for what happened to him and [Foxx] is the one who called the FBI on Combs.”

Choke was later asked if the comedian was joking and he said, “I don’t think he was joking.” He added, “Y’all can determine if he was joking or not when you see the show, ‘cause to me- I’m a new comedian, right?… I know when somebody’s setting up a punchline, and I know when you’re serious.”

It hasn’t been confirmed that Foxx actually made the comments, Choke did say. “Jamie Foxx disappeared, right? He’s out now, soon as Puff went to jail, right? We see him at the game with [Dallas Cowboys owner] Jerry Jones, right?… We haven’t seen him. As soon as Puff went to jail, Foxx was at the goddamn Dallas football game, right? And now he just went and shot his special. And who’s the special strongly based around? Diddy.” 

Foxx has yet to publicly address these claims.

On Tuesday, (Nov. 14), Netflix released the first trailer for the forthcoming film Back in Action.

In the film, Foxx and Diaz play a married couple who are retired spies. After experiencing an unfortunate situation, they are pulled back into their old occupations.

The synopsis reads: “Years after giving up life as CIA spies to start a family, Emily and Matt find themselves dragged back into the world of espionage when their cover is blown.” 

Other members of the cast include Glenn Close, Kyle Chandler, Andrew Scott, McKenna Roberts, Rylan Jackson, and Jamie Demetriou.

Seth Gordon is the director and he co-wrote the film with Brendan O’Brien.

Notably, Back in Action is Diaz’s first role since 2014’s Annie which she co-starred with Foxx, after taking off 11 years to spend time with her family. 

Back in Action is the third time Foxx and Diaz have collaborated on the big screen. In 1999, they starred in Any Given Sunday and the aforementioned Annie in 2014.

Additionally, Foxx is also set to release his first stand-up comedy in more than two decades titled Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was, streaming on Dec. 10.

During the special, Foxx addresses the health scare that took place in April 2023.

The Academy-Award winner shared his thoughts while promoting his latest film Back In Action with co-star Cameron Diaz. Appearing on Complex’s GOAT Talk, Foxx took aim at a fellow comedian describing him as “bi**h made a** ni**a.”

“Bi**h made a** ni**a,” he repeated. “Bi**h made, for me, is actually scientific, because when I see [the] guy that I’m talking about, he’s usually small, he’s 128 lbs. Bi**h made,” Foxx said.

“How many men do you know who are 128 lbs?” Diaz asked.

 “A lot of comedians,” Foxx replied. “I’ll leave it at that. A lot of little motherf**king comedians. Bi**h made a** ni**a, f**k outta here, man. Tiny a**, tiny motherf**ker.”

After mentioning the comic’s lack of height, many speculated that he was speaking about Katt Williams.

During a recent comedy gig,  Williams gave his take on Foxx’s latest Netflix special What Had Happened Was.

 “Five minutes in, I’m crying like a baby,” Williams  admitted., “Why am I crying at a special, n*gga? Jamie Foxx not sh*t.”

He then went on to accuse Foxx of being cloned.

 “Let me be specific, anything I say tonight is alleged, b*tch. I don’t know sh t, I just talk up here,” Williams added.

“Let me say that. I love Jamie Foxx. He a… clone. His clone ain’t sh*t. His clone kept on messing up,” he continued. “The clone showed up with a face full of freckles.”

Willaims also implied that Foxx’s wealth had earned him a prized spot in the Illuminati.

“And they would kill me if they could,” Williams said to thunderous laughter. “But I’m too fast. Thank Jesus.”

Speaking to Extra’s Melvin Robert at the L.A. premiere of Number One on the Call Sheet, his new documentary, the Academy Award winner shared the importance of telling Black stories.

“You didn’t know that that exists when you’re trying to make it. You didn’t know that there was a thing called number one of the call sheet… Look at Will [Smith] — he’s been doing it for so long — and Denzel [Washington], and we get these chances to step up,” Foxx explained. “I like to sort of lead the artistic charge and have everybody happy. We’re playing make-believe at the highest level. There is pressure on you, but good pressure, and it feels good to be able to do it in such a great fashion.”

For the two-part doc, Foxx enlisted some of the best Black talent in the film industry.

“Then to be able to get all these guys and women together to talk about it… You know how hard it is in Hollywood to get a yes. You know how hard it is to get a yes… And we promised all those guys — Kevin Hart, The Rock, everybody: We don’t wanna let your feet touch the ground,” Foxx said. “We want this to be an incredible moment in your life… that you could look on and be like, ‘Man, I’m glad I went down there.’ And we believe we’ve got something very special.”

Jamie also shared how he will not allow his art or Black history to be wiped away.

“They trying to erase everything we do… They talking about the DEI, affirmative action, we don’t need Black history,” Foxx argued. “Why you picking on our history? So, we just do more history. The more you erase, the more we replace,” he said. “So, that’s all it is. We ain’t gonna be shy about it. Leave us alone. Let us enjoy. Let us all be American.”

“We give so much to the culture, and look at what we give: We give them the swag, fashions, the bops, moves, everything — and we don’t charge! … Well, give us back some of our stuff if it’s DEI!”

Reginald Hudlin directs the first installment which is dedicated to “Black Leading Men in Hollywood.” Part two, directed by Shola Lynch, focuses on “Black Leading Women in Hollywood.

Number One on the Call Sheet premieres March 28 on Apple TV+.

During Foxx’s newly Netflix special released on Tuesday titled: “Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was,” he spoke on claims that Diddy had some sort of involvement in his health emergency.

“The internet said Puffy was trying to kill me, that’s what the internet was saying. I know what you thinking, ‘Diddy?’” Foxx joked, adding, “Hell no, I left them parties early. I was out by 9, ‘Something don’t look right. It’s slippery in here.’”

As previously reported, the comedian opened up about his previous health scare that left him hospitalized for more than two weeks.

During the Netflix special, Foxx shares he suffered a brain bleed that led to a stroke. “It is a mystery,” he said. “We still don’t know exactly what happened to me.”

“April 11, I was having a bad headache and I asked my boy for an aspirin. And I realized quickly that when you’re in a medical emergency, your boys don’t know what the f**k to do,” he said.

“Before I could get the aspirin I went out,” he said. “I don’t remember 20 days.”

Foxx thanked his sister, who is “4 foot 11 of nothing but pure love,” for driving him to the nearest Atlanta hospital. Foxx say they ended up at the Piedmont Hospital, where a doctor told him that he would die without an operation, the actor said.
