These rumors emerged following a lawsuit filed by music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones against Sean “Diddy” Combs, which alleged that Combs had sexual encounters with an unnamed “Philadelphia rapper who dated Nicki Minaj”—a description that led to speculation about Meek Mill.

In response, Meek Mill took to social media to refute these claims, stating, “I got a 14 year old son I will never let fake rumors about my name or manhood linger and be silent … my son had to see all that sh*t and deal with it going to school! It’s a silent war against black men and yall rocking wit em!”

In another tweet Meek expresses, “Ima real life KING …… I think they found out… I can brighten whole communities just by stopping by… slow down street wars off words no threats … influence billions to help be the system …. make a 100m from 0… this why I was playing dumb somebody caught on lol”

He further emphasized his frustration by suggesting that such rumors are part of a broader issue, tweeting about a perceived “war against Black men” and highlighting how damaging public speculation can be on young Black families and fathers. “It’s easy to tear black people down because they not gone stick together & they will help you do it….. I’m happy I’m not one of those type black people..”

Meek Mill has consistently denied any romantic involvement with Diddy and has expressed concern over the emotional toll these rumors have on his family, particularly his son.

In a series of tweets, Meek Mill addressed the ongoing federal case involving P. Diddy, raising questions about the status of music producer Lil Rod’s previously reported lawsuit.

“In the midst of Diddy’s federal trial, I want to bring back up Lil Rod and his lawsuit that was dropped,” Meek wrote. “He never mentioned my name, but these blogs pushed a narrative against me. My culture didn’t believe it, but it was still an attack on my brand. I want to get to the bottom of it!”

As previously reported, Lil Rod accused Sean “Diddy” Combs of involvement in an alleged sex trafficking ring. The lawsuit also named actor Cuba Gooding Jr., who was accused of sexual assault in connection with an incident that allegedly took place aboard Diddy’s yacht.

The case was ultimately dismissed after Lil Rod’s attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, failed to meet court deadlines for submitting essential legal documents.

Meek Mill continued his commentary, stating that the only thing he personally witnessed at one of Diddy’s infamous parties was drug use.

“Just to put that on public record… the craziest thing I’ve seen at a Puff party was ‘coke vibes,’” he tweeted. “But that happens at all these industry parties. I’m from North Philly—I’ve had millions since I was 23! I don’t even want to be addicted to weed. I’m not judging, but I see it differently.”

Led by HBCU alumni and men of color, the festival integrates civic engagement into every stop. Through partnerships with the Eagle Academy Foundation, Boys & Girls Club, and Almighty Force Family Inc., organizers support young people, especially boys and young men of color, offering mentorship, resources, and long-term investment in their futures.

Essence called it “The Cookout That Became a Cultural Movement,” and the label fits. Dear Summer doesn’t merely entertain—it embodies the legacy of Black resilience and the promise of what’s next. It is both memory and momentum.

As it grows, the festival stays grounded in its mission: to honor the culture, uplift the community, and create a space where Black joy isn’t just seen—it’s the reason for gathering.

Even though Meek Mill has no involvement in Shannon Sharpe’s legal situation, some social media users criticized him for taking a photo with women who appeared to be white or white-passing. Comments online suggested the timing of the Dubai photo was questionable. Many pointed to the current controversy surrounding Shannon Sharpe as the reason for concern. Some users brought up Sharpe’s accuser’s lawyer and implied that people might twist the image to unfairly target Meek.

Meek didn’t stay silent. He jumped on Instagram to defend himself, questioning how the image ended up gaining so much traction. “Why they keep posting me on blogs with 2 fans…who makes the decisions of what Meek post to put on blogs? lol,” he wrote on his Instagram Story. He then commented directly under The Shade Room’s post: “It’s a regular pic with fans internet melting the minds of the black community wthelly.”

The photo backlash comes at a time when Shannon Sharpe is under heavy public scrutiny. Tony Buzbee, the lawyer for Sharpe’s accuser, recently shared an audio recording. In it, the former NFL star allegedly threatens to choke the woman. Buzbee claims the clip “provides a fair picture of the relationship shortly before the alleged assault.”

Though Meek’s situation is unrelated, the internet once again shows how quickly context can get distorted. Celebrities often find themselves caught in the crossfire of controversy that isn’t even their own.

Cannon’s assertions gained traction online after his appearance on Off the Record, a podcast hosted by Akademiks. He described an encounter where Meek Mill was allegedly confronted due to his provocative remarks on social media, claiming, “We needed that bag.” According to Cannon, the gang members confronted Meek upon his arrival at the club, asserting that they compelled him to contact Rick Ross for the ransom.

In response to these serious accusations, Meek took to Twitter on March 25 to refute Cannon’s narrative. He stated, “This guy must be using a story to confuse his indictment because I never seen him before… I would have put him to the ‘gods test’ on the spot! I never even met buddy but I don’t ‘negotiate’ with ‘fake thugs’.” He further dismissed the notion of any financial transaction or threat, emphasizing his commitment to his values and community.

Meek continued, asserting his respect within the industry: “It’s a real world, real LA n-ggas that respect the shit out of me how I carry myself in an open arms way to build my people up.” He also cited his relationships with rap legends such as Nipsey Hussle, presenting his approach as surpassing the traditional East Coast-West Coast rivalry. In his tweets, Meek indicated that he remains open to confronting those who falsely project strength, stating, “I always been down to meet up with ‘fake street bullies’ in abandoned areas where it’s no civilians and take their heart!”

During a conversation on Akademiks’ Off the Record podcast last year, known gang affiliate Luce Cannon detailed the alleged incident, claiming it stemmed from Meek’s behavior on social media. According to Cannon, the Philadelphia rapper had been “talking real reckless on Twitter,” which led to him being confronted at an L.A. nightclub.

“We caught him at the club where he was performing at,” Cannon claimed. “As soon as he walked in, all of the security that was with him, they spun around. I grabbed cuz like, ‘Bro, wassup?’ I said, ‘Get on the phone with Ross.’”

He went on to allege that Meek was taken outside and held for ransom until Ross came through with the cash. When asked if things could have gone further had the payment not been made, Cannon bluntly confirmed, “Yeah, of course.” However, he insisted it wasn’t a shakedown. “It’s not extortion … it was just a business transaction,” he stated.

Cannon also suggested the situation led to Meek strengthening ties with Nipsey Hussle, noting, “That’s why Meek and Nipsey became cool after that situation because they started using the same PR.”

Meek Mill and Rick Ross have remained silent on the ransom claims, despite the interview making the rounds again. Meanwhile, Cannon, whose real name is Termaine Williams, was recently arrested. He was taken into custody alongside Big U and 17 others in a large-scale crackdown on the Rollin’ 60s Crips. The charges against them include murder, human trafficking, and extortion. Prosecutors allege that Big U used his non-profit organization, Developing Options, as a front for criminal activities.

The rapper posted a photo on X of himself wearing a hoodie at a REFORM Alliance conference. In the tweet, Meek highlighted that while the other men in the photo were dressed in suits, he stood out in his hoodie. “I have 100 suits :.. nobody will ever notice that I wear hoodies to most speaking engagements on purpose so they can see me as a black man from the streets! Rip to Trayvon Martin!”

A fan reacted to the photo stating, “This n*gga a special kind of slow..”

Responding to the fan, Meek says, “I have millions in my bank account,” he wrote. “[R]espected by the streets and the wealthy … with over 30m raised to fight the system with reform… all houses owned from my gmom and mom… and I look out for my community … let’s compare lives right here in front of the world lol.”

Meek talks Collbaing w/ Fridayy

Meek Mill is featured on Fridayy’s new project, Some Days I’m Good, Some Days I’m Not. The two collab’d on the track, “Proud of Me.”

Meek took to his X page to reflect on the new track, where he expressed how much he missed his late father. In response to one fan who shared the song, Meek says, “If you grew up without a dad or lost your dad you may cry when you hear it,” Meek said.

He added in another tweet, “Rest in peace to my dad too I miss the shit out you!” The rapper says his mother didn’t know how he felt about his dad until the song was released. “My mom didn’t even know I felt like this about my dad situation!”

Speaking at the inaugural PLLRS event in Brooklyn Tuesday night (Feb 25),  Friday recalled creating “Proud of Me,” a tribute to his father.

“Me and Meek had a show in New York at the Barclays. We had always been locked in. I went back in the crib, and was going to make a hook for somebody for the summer. I’m not even thinking about my album because it was supposed to already be turned in,” Fridayy told journalist Keith Nelson Jr. “I just played the keys and freestyled that whole song in probably like an hour, bro. That’s really my favorite song. It’s a tribute to my father, who I lost last year. It was really like therapy. When I listened back to it, it’s like I’m letting out how I feel. I’m saying I know he’s proud of me.”

After making the track, Friday thought Meek would be the perfect addition for the song because of their similar experiences.

“I know Meek lost his father, and we connected with that last year when I was my father. So I FaceTimed him and I just played the song. He was getting a chill on FaceTime,” he continued.”I told him I needed him on the song. So, I pulled up on him, and he was in the booth for about 11 hours.”

“I ain’t gonna lie, Meek stayed in the booth for 11 hours. He struggled for probably three hours.”He just stayed in there,” he added. “I’m talking he did not even drink water or nothing. He just stayed in there. We were there from 11:00 PM to 11:00 AM. When he finished that verse, all I wanted to do was cry the whole time.”

Friday also shared how a meeting with Chris Brown led to his first Grammy win.

“A few months after GOD DID, he DM’d me like, “We gotta link.” I lied to him, I wasn’t even in L.A. But, I told him, “I’m going to pull up on you in L.A. in two days. I got the flight. I pulled up to his crib. I probably cried that night because he was one of the most humble guys I ever met in

this game. I’m in the studio with him like, “What you want to do?” He said, “Just lead the way. I want some of your sound.” So, we locked in.”

Speaking with Revolt News, Dee-1 revealed that he and Meek had a candid conversation after crossing paths at a nightclub. Their meeting was unplanned but meaningful. When Dee-1 heard Meek was in town, he made the rare decision to step into a club, determined to speak face-to-face.

“I don’t go to clubs,” he admitted. “But if Meek Mill is in my city and I have a chance to talk, I’m going.”

Fredo Bang, a Baton Rouge native who knows Meek personally, played a key role in making the conversation happen. “Shout out to my little brother, Fredo Bang,” Dee-1 said. “He made sure it was good. Meek had about 25 people with him, but we still had a man-to-man talk right in the middle of the club.”

Their conversation went beyond personal differences. Dee-1 said they addressed broader issues affecting the Black community, noting that Meek’s perspective had evolved.

“I’ve always stood for this,” Dee-1 explained. “Meek has grown. He sees now that, yeah, there are things in our culture that need to change. But he’s in it deeper than I am.”

While they may not agree on everything, the exchange built mutual respect.

“When two men can sit down, listen to each other’s hearts, and leave with more respect than before, that’s what matters,” Dee-1 said.

Since then, the two have stayed in touch. Dee-1 remains optimistic about Meek’s growth and influence.

“I’ve texted him since, and I’m rooting for him. A better Meek Mill means a better Black community.”

Following the interview, Dee shared his optimism on Revolt News’ social media post.

“Communication leads to unification,” he wrote. “Big shoutout to @meekmill and @fredobang. A shift is happening.”

The Philadelphia rapper claimed he paid $2.8 million in taxes in 2013, despite allegedly earning only $2 million that year. “How do I fight that?” he asked, expressing frustration over the unexpected financial burden. “I’ve been paying taxes since I was 23 … pulling damn near $3M from your account randomly is stressful!”

He followed up with another post, insisting there was no way he owed that amount based on his reported income. Some users advised him to consult an accountant instead of venting online, while others suggested penalties or back taxes might explain the discrepancy.
