Will Smith & Coco Jones Perform “Summertime” At Bel-Air BBQ

Will Smith arrives at the Los Angeles World Premiere of 'Focus' at TCL Chinese Theatre on February 24

As he gets back into music, Will Smith performs his summertime classic supporting the upcoming third season of the hit show Bel-Air. Fans go nuts as Smith joins actress and recording artist Coco Jones on stage at the Bel-Air BBQ to perform “Summertime.”

The 1991 classic was honored as “the best summer song of all time” by Rolling Stone. It won a Grammy 1992 for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group. The summer anthem appears on DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince’s fourth album, Homebase, released in July 1991 on Jive Records.

At the BBQ, Smith joined others in the Bel-Air cast to perform trendy antics. Bel-Air, a revamp to the 90s classic sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, stars Jabari Banks as Will Smith, Coco Jones as Hilary Banks, Olly Sholotan as Carlton Banks, and Akira Akbar as Ashley Banks. Fresh Prince cast members to appear in this season’s Bel-Air include Joesph Marcell, who played Geoffrey, and Tatyana Ali, who played the original Ashley Banks.

This month, Will returned to music with two new songs, including a collaboration with Russ and Jaden Smith called “Work Of Art.” He delivered a stunning performance of the new song, “You Can Make It,” featuring Fridayy and Sunday Service Choir at the BET Awards. The new tracks are part of Smith’s upcoming album, his first in a new independent deal with SLANG.

Smith has been on a redemption road since he slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars over remarks about his wife Jada Pickett-Smith. The Oscars banned Smith from attending for 10 years.

Will and his wife’s relationship has been in the headlines for years. Jada told Drew Barrymore in November 2023 that she and Will Smith are staying together forever.

Bel-Air season 3 begins on Peacock on August 15.
