Soulja Boy is dealing with a legal battle that has been unfolding for years. The rapper is currently facing a civil trial after being accused of sexual assault, false imprisonment, and other serious allegations. The lawsuit was originally filed in 2021 by an anonymous woman who claims she worked as his personal assistant.

According to the accuser, Soulja Boy subjected her to sexual battery, emotional distress, and an unsafe work environment. She also alleged that he refused to pay her overtime wages. Shortly after the lawsuit was filed, the rapper denied all claims. “I vehemently and unequivocally deny these allegations. I am in contact with my legal team and the appropriate legal action will be taken against these lies,” he said at the time.

On March 19th, the woman testified in court, describing her alleged assault experiences. She claimed that Soulja Boy trapped her in his Malibu home, withheld food, and confiscated her personal belongings. “I feared for my life,” she stated while on the stand. She also alleged that he sexually assaulted her in 2019, leaving her “in shock. His defense team has argued that her statements are “inconsistent” and lack solid evidence as repored by TMZ.

This trial isn’t the only legal battle Soulja Boy has been involved in recently. Last year, rapper Plies took legal action against him, along with Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla, and Cardi B, accusing them of copyright infringement over his “Me & My Goons” beat. However, Plies dropped the lawsuit this week. Soulja Boy reacted on Instagram, posting a screenshot of the news with a blunt message: “Just like I thought sit yo lil broke as down n**ga. This my sh*t dummy.”
