Doechii has caught the eye of many, even her peers, like Doja Cat. In a recent post on X, she shared her admiration for the TDE rapper. Doja seems to have jumped on the Doechii bandwagon early. In 2023, Doja Cat hand-picked Doechii as the opener for her Scarlet Tour.
“Doechii is MY inspiration,” Doja Cat wrote in an X post Friday (Apr. 4). “Doechii is here to STAY.” Doechii has also shared her appreciation for the Planet Her rapper. During a 2023 interview with PEOPLE, Doechii revealed how the bond between her and Doja began. The rapper said she and Doja Cat shared a similar journey into the music industry.
“I mean, how I came up in the music industry, I came up in a really small town and I was really in the underground scene, so community has always been really important to me, so to know that that’s important to Doja too is really cool,” Doechii told the outlet.
She added, “And to know that beyond, on a professional level, she wants us to bond in a deeper way, to connect over something besides music is really, really cool, and it makes me excited for the tour. It shows me that it’s going to be fun as well as hard work.”

Doja Cat Teases New Album ‘Vie’
Doja Cat gave her fans something to talk about after hopping on Instagram Live Friday, March 28th, to preview tracks from her upcoming album Vie. During the session, she cycled through several songs, playing snippets that showcased a mix of genres. One track had a nostalgic ‘90s R&B feel, while another leaned into a pop ballad vibe. As she teased her unreleased music, she kept her fans on edge by repeatedly asking, “Should I leak this?”
Vie will mark Doja’s fifth studio album and follows her 2023 project Scarlet, which delivered hits like “Paint the Town Red,” “Agora Hills,” and “Demons.” While she’s been keeping details under wraps, she hasn’t slowed down musically. This year, she teamed up with Lisa and Raye for Born Again and linked with Jack Harlow for “Just Us,” which dropped earlier this month.
