Halle Bailey is taking legal action to protect her son.
The 25-year-old singer and actress has filed for sole custody of her infant son, Halo Saint, following serious allegations against her ex-boyfriend, rapper DDG. The move comes after a Los Angeles judge granted Bailey a temporary restraining order on May 13, 2025, citing claims of physical and verbal abuse.
Bailey, who gave birth to Halo in December 2023, is seeking full legal and physical custody. In court documents, she asks that DDG—born Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.—be denied unsupervised visitation due to concerns for Halo’s safety. She proposes that any contact be limited to six hours per week, supervised by a professional agency, and restricted to Los Angeles County.
Her filing reveals a troubling timeline. Bailey alleges the abuse began before Halo’s birth and worsened after the couple split in October 2024. She describes a pattern of verbal attacks, including being called derogatory names, harassed, and maligned on social media. DDG has publicly accused her of infidelity and claimed she was keeping Halo from him, which Bailey says led to further harassment by his online followers.
A January 2025 incident stands out in the court filing. Bailey says DDG became “very agitated” during a custody exchange. “Halo was crying,” she recalled. “I kept asking him to stop calling me names. I didn’t feel safe. He was upset and I was afraid to leave Halo with him.”
The restraining order marks a critical shift in their relationship, once widely admired for its affectionate public image. Now, Bailey’s allegations have thrust the couple into a custody battle that could reshape their co-parenting future.
Her legal team argues that DDG’s “volatile temperament and lack of respect” pose a danger to their son. Bailey claims there were multiple incidents of physical aggression during their relationship, with tensions escalating after their breakup. The court will now determine whether these accusations warrant permanent restrictions on DDG’s access to his child.
For Bailey, the priority is clear: protecting Halo’s well-being. Though she’s requesting supervised visitation, her petition reflects a willingness to preserve the father-son bond under strict conditions. The case also raises urgent conversations about domestic violence, accountability, and the challenges of co-parenting after abuse.
As public interest grows, those following the story want answers. Will the court side with Bailey? Will DDG respond in court? What lies ahead for Halo?
In the coming weeks, court proceedings will offer insight into the allegations and shape the future of this fractured family.
