Rick Ross is facing financial scrutiny from the Georgia Department of Revenue, which alleges the rapper owes nearly $65,000 in back taxes.
According to In Touch, the state filed a tax execution against Ross late last year, claiming he failed to pay $64,995.21 for 2021. This total includes the original $29,043 tax bill, along with interest, collection costs, and additional fees.
The MMG mogul is no stranger to high-value properties. He owns the sprawling 109-room mansion in Fayetteville, Georgia, once owned by boxing legend Evander Holyfield.
Ross also purchased a luxurious home on Miami’s Star Island for $35 million in 2023, a prestigious neighborhood where Diddy also resides. Despite his impressive portfolio, the rapper seems keen on expanding further. Last month, Ross expressed interest in acquiring an Atlanta estate owned by Cardi B.
In December, Cardi took to X to share a photo of her massive property, captioning it, “My casa [heart emoji]. I don’t want it no more though.”
After the post went viral, Ross showed interest on Instagram, asking, “Asking price?” The interaction fueled speculation about Ross adding another high-profile property to his collection.
Cardi has been vocal about her dislike for living in Atlanta, where her estranged husband Offset is from. Speaking on Instagram Live last year after filing for divorce, she explained, “I don’t live in Atlanta. I have a house there, but I only visit three or four times a year for maybe a week at most. I tried moving there in 2018 and stayed for six months. I hated it. I don’t have friends or family in Atlanta, so it just wasn’t for me.”
Rick Ross, however, has made significant moves in Atlanta’s real estate market. In 2023, he purchased Meek Mill’s Atlanta mansion for over $4 million. The property had been on the market for more than two years before Ross bought it outright in cash. His realtor, Alisha Gillooly, praised the deal, saying, “This transaction solidifies his impact on the luxury market.”
While Rick Ross continues to expand his real estate empire, the tax dispute casts a shadow over his financial dealings. With his history of high-profile purchases, all eyes are on how the “Biggest Bawse” handles the situation.
