“She was really adamant about me coming to her party,” Normani shared in an interview, revealing that Wilson and Ciara also convinced Metcalf to attend. Their matchmaking efforts clearly paid off, as the couple has been going strong for nearly four years.

Wilson had been open on social media about growing their family. This month,  Ciara shared a photo of herself on Instagram dancing at Trinidad and Tobago’s Carnival celebration.

“This is my mating call, I see…” Wilson wrote in response to the video. “Keep sippin’ on that @tentoonerum… Cinco goin’ to be on di way!”

Ciara responded with laughing emojis, “Someone come take my husband’s phone, please.”

In the latest episode of Over It Radio along with Summer Walker, Ciara shared a few rules that allow her marriage to thrive with the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback.

“I would say communication rules a nation. What I will give my husband a lot of credit for is that he can communicate really well. And I think maybe it’s the quarterback in him because he’s big on leadership, big on teamwork, big on being together,” Ciara said.

While she admitted that she can be stubborn and  “spicy and feisty sometimes, “communication is a top priority.

Along with communication, Ciara stated that dating in her marriage is essential.

“I really feel grateful for our ability to communicate with each other. Because I feel like there’s nothing I can’t go to him about,” she continued. “And even if we have to find our way through it in the conversation, I feel very confident we’re going to make it on the other side.”

“We have our precious babies and that’s a lot. And me, doing everything that I’m trying to do every day. Grinding and the hustle,” Ciara said. ‘Then he’s also doing his thing and grinding. I think sometimes you can get monotonous if you don’t look up and pay attention. And so we are very committed to date night.”

Because of Wilson’s schedule  “every Friday” is the couple’s official date “and it’s something I look forward to,” said Ciara.

Ciara also shared how she deals with “mommy guilt” when she makes time for her and Wilson.

Ciara also revealed Russell’s playful enthusiasm for expanding their family, saying, “Russ keeps walking around saying, ‘Cinco,’” she laughed. “And I’m like, ‘High five, I love you too.’ I think we’ll get to five, but this mom needs just a little time. A tiny bit.”

“That song was my baby. ‘Goodies’ is where everything began for me,” she said. “[I] had this record, but not knowing that behind the scenes, there was a conversation about this song being potentially taken from me and given to an artist like Britney Spears, who was on the same roster as me,” she explains.

“I learned about the story later, but the crazy thing for me is that if I would’ve known about it then, I would have fought tooth and nail.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Ciara opened up about how she knew Russell Wilson was the one.

“When you know, you know,” said the singer, 38. “From day one, we sat down, we talked. It’s so funny, ‘cause we always laugh about the first time we met. We were talking too long and having such a good time and in such great conversation, we forgot to eat.”

After the dated, Ciara says they’ve since shared their post-first-date stories with each other. “He told his friend in the elevator going down, ‘She’s the one.'”

“I called my best friend, Yolie, who’s my matron of honor, my makeup artist for legitimately 24 years — my best friend,” she continued. “I said, ‘Yolie, I don’t want to jinx anything, but I think…’ And she goes, ‘He’s the one?’ And I go, ‘Yes.’”
