Social media would flood the rap star’s comments with opinions and resurface previous actions by him, including hiring sex workers for his minor’s birthday party. One user wrote, “So basically you’re admitting to being involved with sex trafficking also? Awaiting trial, Diddy is currently in Metropolitan Detention Center Brooklyn. Boosie Badazz faces resurfaced firearm charges in San Diego.

How are you?” She revealed that she had just found out the night before that she’d be able to see him. In other news, Boosie Badazz shared in November 2024 that he and his fiancée, Rajel Nelson, are expecting their ninth child.

The “Wipe Me Down” artist shared videos of the gender reveal on Instagram, where he learned he’d be welcoming a daughter. Less than two weeks after a federal judge dismissed the previous case against him, U.S. Attorney Tara McGrath’s office filed a new indictment on Friday. Hatch is charged with two counts of firearm possession: one for interstate commerce as a convicted felon and another for knowingly possessing a firearm while using controlled substances.

Previously, Boosie was charged with possession of a firearm as a felon in interstate commerce, but the case was dismissed due to a recent federal court precedent that deemed the law unconstitutional for non-violent offenders. The new indictment reasserts these allegations, seeking court-mandated forfeiture of all firearms and ammunition involved. If convicted on the second charge, Hatch could face a maximum prison sentence of 10 years.

In a social media post on X, Boosie Badazz expressed frustration over the new charges, stating, “I’m on vacation with my family. My lawyer calls and says this federal prosecutor has indicted me again on the same charge. This is a circus.” The post included the hashtag “#justiceforboosie.”

Lil Boosie, based in Louisiana, has been entangled in legal issues in San Diego since his arrest in May 2023 in the Chollas View neighborhood. He was in town to film a music video and perform at a local club when San Diego police became involved. 

Officers, watching an Instagram livestream, saw a man with a black handgun tucked into his waistband in the backyard of a residence. The man, later identified as Hatch, left the scene before officers arrived. 

Using a helicopter, police tracked him down and conducted a traffic stop, finding two loaded handguns in the vehicle. Hatch’s bodyguard, who was driving, was also taken into custody but not charged.

Local prosecutors initially attempted to charge Hatch with firearm possession. When those charges were dropped, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) took over, arresting Boosie Badazz on June 14 on a federal charge. 

Boosie pleaded not guilty and was released on a $100,000 bond. After the case was dismissed, Hatch posted a celebratory Instagram video from the lazy river at San Diego’s Sycuan Casino Resort.

Boosie is scheduled for another arraignment on August 2 in San Diego County federal court. Known for songs like “Wipe Me Down” and “Set It Off,” Boosie has had multiple encounters with law enforcement. Despite past accusations of violent crimes, he has only been convicted of non-violent felony drug charges.

The shooting sent chaos through the packed venue in the early hours of Monday, Cleveland 19 News reported. Video from the scene captures Boosie mid-performance when gunshots suddenly disrupt the show. The rapper quickly drops to the ground and bolts from the stage as panic ensues within the venue. Police reports reveal that off-duty officers, who were acting as security, immediately called for backup after the shots rang out.

An 18-year-old and a 36-year-old man were quickly transported to a local hospital, where they are in critical condition.

A third individual, a 25-year-old male, was treated for a minor gunshot wound. The identities of all three victims remain undisclosed. Authorities believe the shooting erupted after a confrontation during the performance. No suspects have been named, and Boosie has not addressed the incident publicly.

Boosie Badazz’s shows have previously been overshadowed by violence. Just last year, gunfire claimed the lives of two men at one of his concerts in Iowa. Appearing to downplay the gravity of the situation, Boosie took to social media shortly after, stating, “They just shut the concert down. I’ve been in the back a couple of hours waiting to perform and they just shut the concert down – I don’t know – some shit happened in the front.” “We’re going to take it to Crush Ultra Lounge, the party don’t stop. Guess they gonna have to book me again in Omaha, but we finna … we finna take it to Crush man.” In 2017, while Boosie was on stage in Gardena, California, a shooter opened fire, injuring two fans with wounds that were not life-threatening.

On Tuesday, April 8, the Baton Rouge rapper posted a video message from what he said was a hospital discharge, addressing the widespread clip showing him and several associates at the scene of what appeared to be a serious multi-car collision.

In the video, Boosie dismissed claims that he was behind the wheel, making it clear that others—not him—caused the crash.

“Fresh out the hospital,” he said. “No, I ain’t wreck no car. I don’t ever wreck no car. Stupid-ass n**s wreck my cars. That’s the fourth car in six months. I ain’t never wrecked s*.”

His frustration was raw, unfiltered, and consistent with the candid persona he’s maintained throughout his career.

The footage, widely shared across social media platforms, shows Boosie at the scene in a visibly rattled state. However, he appeared undeterred by the accident’s aftermath.

“It is what it is,” he added. “I’m headed to buy me two more right now.” The statement felt defiant, as though he intended to erase the chaos with the ease of a purchase.

Although Boosie didn’t provide details about injuries sustained by himself or others, he acknowledged the impact of the incident in a Facebook status posted the night before.

“I’M GOOD. BANGED UP. BUT GOOD. GOD GOT ME,” he wrote. That post suggested physical discomfort, though he downplayed its severity.

A woman named Kela Hicks took to Facebook to claim Boosie was at fault. “Boosie almost killed my homeboy,” she wrote. “He ran straight through the fing light doing about 100. Slow that s down.” Her version of events paints a very different picture from Boosie’s denial.

According to initial reports, the crash occurred in Atlanta at an intersection along South Fulton Parkway. Based on video footage, Boosie appeared to be driving a 2025 BMW i7 sedan, a luxury electric vehicle with a retail value starting around $105,000. The car sustained significant damage, adding fuel to the public speculation.

Neither Boosie nor his team has addressed Hicks’ claims directly, nor have law enforcement officials released an official report. Without confirmation from authorities, the public is left to parse the contradictory narratives unfolding online. Still, Boosie’s insistence on distancing himself from blame, coupled with his characteristic bluntness, has kept him at the center of the conversation.

This is Boosie’s one of many conversations with his son about depicting a street lifestyle. Last December, Boosie recorded himself talking to his son about wearing a “Pooh Shiesty Mask.”

Both Tip and Boosie have been convicted of firearm charges in court, resulting in prison sentences. In 2007, T.I. was arrested by the ATF for purchasing illegal firearms with silencers before performing at the BET Hip-Hop Awards.  

Both rappers had been wary of their children’s music’s potential influence, but their intervention appears to have paid off. After all, the young artists grew up watching their fathers help shape southern street rap, a genre known for its raw depictions of life in the streets.
