Young Scooter’s death has been ruled an accident by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office, which confirmed he did not die from a gunshot wound. Their report, released Tuesday, stated, “This injury was not a gunshot wound,” revealing that the 39-year-old rapper suffered a fatal leg injury when a wooden object punctured his right thigh, causing severe blood loss.
This conclusion aligns with details shared by Atlanta police after the incident. Lt. Andrew Smith previously explained that Scooter was injured in an accident while trying to escape officers responding to a 911 call. According to Smith, two men ran from the back of a house, one went back inside while the other, later identified as Scooter, jumped two fences. When officers found him, he had suffered a serious leg injury. Police confirmed no shots were fired.
Investigators are still working to identify the person who made the 911 call, which initially sent officers to the residence. The caller, claiming to be “neighborhood watch,” reported gunfire and a domestic dispute, alleging that a woman had been thrown outside without clothes and that multiple men were involved in drug activity.
As the investigation continues, Scooter’s publicist, Abesi Manyando, shared that his family is “completely devastated” and awaiting more details to understand the full circumstances, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
