Tory Lanez has been hospitalized after being stabbed during an incident at a California state prison. The attack took place Monday morning while he was in the yard at California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi, where he is currently serving time for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020.
Sources, including one from law enforcement, say another inmate carried out the stabbing. It’s still unclear what sparked the violence, but the injuries were serious enough that Tory was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Bakersfield for treatment. A source told TMZ, “This isn’t how Tory Lanez wants to get out of prison, but he is,” referring to his sudden transport to the hospital due to the stabbing.
Despite the severity of the incident, Tory’s injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening. He is expected to recover and return to the prison once he receives medical clearance from doctors.
Tory Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was sentenced to ten years in prison after being found guilty of shooting rapper Megan Thee Stallion. The case attracted widespread attention and continues to be a point of contention. Megan has accused Tory of using bloggers and online figures to harass and defame her even after his conviction. She has claimed he continues to play a role in a targeted effort to smear her name online.
The identity of the inmate responsible for the stabbing has not yet been released, and officials have not provided information on whether charges will be filed in connection with the attack. For now, Tory remains under medical supervision while the prison and law enforcement investigate what led to the violent encounter.
