Amid the ongoing legal clash between Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion, recent court filings reveal that Lanez may face contempt charges following a heated deposition tied to Megan’s defamation lawsuit against YouTuber Milagro Gramz.
On April 16, Megan’s legal team revealed they had attempted to meet with Lanez in prison to secure his testimony ahead of the upcoming civil trial. The meeting, however, rapidly unraveled. Lanez, serving a ten-year sentence for his conviction tied to the 2020 shooting involving Megan, reportedly exhibited behavior described by Megan’s attorneys as “disruptive, inflammatory, and inconsistent with the basic norms of civil litigation …” This account was further supported by the fact that even Lanez’s own legal representatives distanced themselves from his actions.
Moments after the deposition commenced, Lanez suddenly cut it short, feigning ignorance of fundamental terms such as “discuss,” “approve,” and “meet.” Additionally, he allegedly targeted one of Megan’s attorneys with “petty, misogynistic insults” aimed at her appearance—behavior seen as an attempt to undermine the gravity of the legal process. In response to his actions, Megan’s legal team is pressing the court for “meaningful sanctions” against him, a motion that seems to have gained backing, even from Lanez’s own counsel.
Lanez’s Remarks and Gramz’s Counterattack Fuel Heated Legal Battle
Excerpts from the deposition revealed the concerning nature of Lanez’s replies, including one instance where he directed disparaging comments at Ms. Pete’s legal team, undermining the decorum expected in such proceedings.
Megan Thee Stallion initiated legal action against Milagro Gramz in October, accusing her of cyberstalking, infliction of emotional distress, and the distribution of manipulated pornographic material. Megan alleges that Gramz served as a vehicle for false claims intended to tarnish her reputation following the shooting incident, reportedly receiving payments from Tory Lanez’s father to perpetuate these fabrications.
In her response to the lawsuit, Gramz signaled plans to file a countersuit, suggesting the legal dispute would intensify. She has also publicly argued that the justice system is unjustly targeting her in an attempt to silence her opposition. As the case progresses, the trial is scheduled to begin on July 21, with both sides preparing for what is expected to be a highly charged courtroom battle.
