Pop Smoke’s brother, Obasi Jackson, has criticized Fivio Foreign for not following the late rapper on Instagram.

Jackson expressed his disappointment in a video, stating, “I just woke up, but that is actually true. I just looked at his following; he’s not following Pop or Mike Dee. I mean, forget Mike Dee. But Pop? Fivio?! We gotta do something about this fake stuff, gang. People aren’t gonna show their face at Pop Smoke Day. What’s going on?”

In response, Fivio Foreign, who was visibly affected by Pop Smoke’s passing, did not take the criticism lightly. The “Off The Grid” rapper fired back at Jackson, calling him “weird” and highlighting that Pop Smoke himself did not follow his brother on social media when he was alive.

Fivio stated, “That guy is a weirdo. Don’t believe anything those attention-seekers say. Pop didn’t follow that goofball when he was alive. Stop chasing clout after Pop’s death. He hated his own brother, and Pop didn’t mess with this lame guy.”

To further dispel the allegations, Fivio shared posts online, including one on Instagram, and later went on IG Live to reaffirm his love for his late friend and collaborator. “Y’all talking about a follow? Look at this, I have ‘The smoke will never clear’ on my chest,” he said, showing off his Pop Smoke tattoo. “I don’t know how they unfollow. I went through a phase of following zero people. I don’t even care.”

While Jackson’s claim about the lack of a follow is technically correct, fans are divided. Some see the act as disrespectful, while others believe the issue is being blown out of proportion.

Fellow New York rap star Cash Cobain revealed plans to release a Pop Smoke tribute song this week while on tour with Ice Spice.
