Chris Brown is receiving a wave of support from high-profile peers following his release from a British jail, with Justin Bieber among the first to weigh in publicly.

Shortly after being granted bail, Brown posted a photo of himself at the airport to Instagram. The image quickly drew a comment from Bieber, who wrote, “Welcome home”—a gesture that underscored their longstanding musical and personal connection. Bieber joins a small group of celebrities who have rallied behind Brown as he faces serious legal challenges overseas. Rapper 50 Cent also voiced his approval of Brown’s release, writing on social media, “CB out he made bond, I’m only saying this because I believe he is the best overall artist out there. I’ve watched his entire journey!”

Brown was arrested last week in Manchester on charges of grievous bodily harm with intent, stemming from a 2023 incident at Tape, a high-end nightclub in London. Authorities allege that Brown struck music producer Abe Diaw with a tequila bottle, then stomped on him while he was on the floor, leaving him unconscious. Diaw claims the injuries were “severe and lasting.” Surveillance footage of the incident is said to be in the hands of prosecutors.

Initially denied bail, Brown had been remanded until June 13—just days before the scheduled launch of his Breezy Bowl tour in Manchester. But in a surprising turn, a judge later approved his release after the singer posted bail totaling nearly $7 million. Under the terms of his release, Brown must remain at a designated residence in the United Kingdom and has surrendered his passport to authorities. However, he has been granted permission to travel internationally in order to fulfill contractual obligations related to his tour.

In a further complication, Diaw has accused Brown of spreading “false rumors” about him in the aftermath of the alleged assault—an accusation that could factor into future proceedings. Brown, who has faced multiple legal issues throughout his career, now enters another high-stakes chapter—one that will unfold in both courtrooms and concert venues. While the criminal case continues to evolve, the visible support from fellow artists may offer a symbolic reprieve as he prepares for what lies ahead.
