GloRilla refuses to be the punchline of internet jokes, making it clear she won’t tolerate unflattering comparisons. The Memphis rapper recently fired back after social media users linked her to a viral beauty mishap.

The controversy started when a woman shared dramatic before-and-after photos of herself—one barefaced, the other following a heavy-handed makeup session. The results were widely criticized, with many calling out the poorly blended foundation, uneven eyeliner, and exaggerated lipstick. The post quickly gained traction, with users on X (formerly Twitter) saying the makeup looked amateurish, comparing the woman’s final look to a child playing with their mother’s cosmetics.

Some took it a step further, likening the woman to GloRilla. The rapper didn’t take it lightly. “I’m looking through dem quotes of dat ugly makeup girl & everybody dat say it look like me I’m in yall n**** dm right now,” she wrote. While her words were blunt, her frustration was evident.

The comparisons likely stem from a past incident where GloRilla herself faced criticism over a makeup job gone wrong. In October, a beauty school student had the chance to work on her face, but the results fell short of expectations.

The rapper, unhappy with the final look, reportedly asked the artist to remove the photos from social media, stating she never consented to their release. Trolls seized the opportunity to ridicule her, taking jabs at both the makeup and her natural features.

The aspiring makeup artist later defended herself, expressing disappointment in GloRilla’s reaction.

“I’m in shock to even have heard her say that. Like, ‘Why is she proud of that?’ Be for real, you were my first celebrity client. Anybody would have been proud. I’m sure when you got signed, you were proud too… You had time to perfect your craft, just like me.”

The situation highlights the harsh scrutiny celebrities face, especially women in the public eye. GloRilla’s reaction may have been sharp, but it underscores the frustration of constantly being compared, criticized, and memeified.

Whether justified or not, the internet never hesitates to turn a misstep into a viral moment.
