In a heartbreaking turn of events, Young Scooter has tragically passed away on what would have been his 39th birthday. The Freebandz artist died following an encounter with Atlanta police that unfolded on March 28, as reports of gunfire and domestic violence prompted officers to respond to a local residence. According to authorities, the rapper, born Kenneth Bailey, sustained a leg injury while attempting to evade police by jumping over a fence.
He was subsequently taken to Grady Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The specific cause of death remains unclear, pending the results of an autopsy scheduled for March 29. Lieutenant Andrew Smith provided details during a press conference, highlighting the sequence of events that led to the tragic outcome.
Upon the police’s arrival, a male opened the door only to quickly shut it again. As officers established a perimeter, two individuals fled from the rear of the property. One returned indoors, while the other, later identified as Scooter, attempted to escape by jumping two fences. When officers apprehended him, they noticed he had suffered an injury to his leg. Smith confirmed that the injury was not inflicted by the police but occurred during Scooter’s flight.
