Rod Wave is facing 14 criminal charges following an alleged incident at his Georgia home in April.
The 26-year-old rapper, celebrated for his Billboard-topping albums SoulFly, Beautiful Mind, and Nostalgia, is accused of aggravated assault, firearm violations, and reckless conduct. His attorney insists Green was the victim of a break-in and committed no crime.
Police responded to Green’s residence in Milton on April 21 around 9:30 p.m. after reports of a domestic disturbance. Neighbors claimed they heard shouting outside the home. Officers arrived to find bullet casings on the driveway, a shattered poolside window, and a hammer discarded in nearby bushes. A handgun was recovered, and two luxury vehicles—a Mercedes G-Wagon and a Rolls-Royce—had sustained gunfire damage.
Green wasn’t present during the initial investigation. A woman at the scene told police he would return the following day. No injuries were reported.
On May 21, Green turned himself in to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office and was released the same day on bond. His lawyer, Drew Findling, denounced the charges.
“Rod Green was the target of a burglary and did nothing wrong,” Findling said. “These charges are baseless and will be fully contested in court.”
The charges include tampering with evidence, criminal property damage, and pointing a firearm at another person. Police have not confirmed whether the alleged break-in involved additional suspects. The investigation remains open.
Green’s legal trouble arrives during a peak in his music career. Known for his emotional vulnerability and melodic delivery, the rapper has cultivated a loyal following. Each of his last three albums debuted at No. 1, cementing his status as a major voice in contemporary rap.
Now, as the case unfolds in Fulton County, Green finds himself navigating a legal battle that could shadow his rising stardom. While the outcome remains uncertain, his legal team appears ready for a prolonged defense.
