Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, took the stand and testified about his past relationship with Cassie Ventura and several unsettling interactions with Sean “Diddy” Combs. Cudi said Ventura first confided in him about trouble with Combs around Thanksgiving 2010. “That’s when she was telling me she was having problems,” he said, but clarified she never mentioned sexual abuse, only physical.

He met Ventura around 2008 and they briefly dated in 2011. During that time, he believed she and Combs had already broken up. After their relationship ended, Cudi said they “just stopped talking,” and when asked if she had played him, he simply responded, “Yes.”

In December 2011, Ventura called him distressed after Combs allegedly found out about their relationship. Cudi picked her up from a hotel and spoke with Combs’ employee Capricorn Clark, who he said sounded “on the verge of tears.” She told him Combs and another person were already inside his home. Upon returning, Cudi found his security cameras moved, family gifts opened, and his dog locked in the bathroom. He called the police and filed a report.

Later, Combs texted Cudi wanting to talk, but Cudi ignored him. “You broke into my house, you messed with my dog, I don’t want to talk to you,” he said.

Then in 2012, Cudi’s Porsche was destroyed in a fire. He testified that law enforcement found a Molotov cocktail inside the car. “What the f**k,” he said when asked how he reacted. He requested a meeting with Combs afterward. “Sean Combs was standing there, staring out the window with his hands behind his back, like a Marvel supervillain,” Cudi recalled.

Years later, at Soho House, Combs apologized. “Man I just want to apologize for everything and all that bullsh*t,” Cudi testified. He said he found peace after that moment.
