On Sunday (Dec.15), Jamie Foxx made an Instagram post addressing the alleged restaurant melee that left him with stitches. Judging by the post, he seems to be denying it may have happened. The post displays a black background with white font and reads, “The devil is busy…but I’m too blessed to be stressed.” The actor and comedian continues in the post’s caption, writing, “The devil is a lie. Can’t win here… thank you to everybody that pray and check on me…” he began.
“When your light is shining bright… they try to bring you darkness … but they don’t know that you’re built for it… the lights have been shining bright,” Jamie Foxx wrote. According to Hot97, on Tuesday (Dec. 10), reports surfaced that an alleged altercation involving Jamie Foxx occurred at a Los Angeles restaurant, leaving him with stitches. According to TMZ, while celebrating his 57th birthday at Mr. Chow’s, he got into a confrontation with a group across from his table. According to witnesses, the other customers were rude to the comedian. When Jamie Foxx asked the group to stop, in light of his family’s presence, they refused. Sources say that someone in the group responded to Foxx’s plea with a glass to his face.
Another source confirmed to TMZ that law enforcement promptly arrived after the melee, but Foxx had left by then. Jamie Foxx’s rep reached the outlet the following day to give a statement. “Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth. He had to get stitches and is recovering. The police were called, and the matter is now in law enforcement’s hands,” he said.
