Soulja Boy is facing serious accusations as his trial for alleged sexual assault and kidnapping is now underway. The rapper took the stand earlier this week after being sued in 2021 by an anonymous woman who claimed she worked for him as a personal assistant. She accuses him of sexual battery, sexual assault, false imprisonment, emotional distress, unpaid overtime, and creating a hostile work environment.
According to XXL, Soulja Boy denied ever employing the woman in a professional capacity and refuted allegations of violence. However, during the trial, the court was presented with text messages he allegedly sent her, including disturbing phrases like, “f**k U b**ch” and “I hope you die slow.” When questioned about the messages, he admitted they were his words. Attorney Dean Aynechi then asked, “Is it OK to talk to women like this?” to which Soulja Boy simply replied, “No.” He also denied ever physically harming the woman, stating, “Never.”
Despite his testimony, he was not directly questioned about the sexual assault allegations. The woman previously testified that she was allegedly held against her will at Soulja Boy’s Malibu rental home, claiming she was denied food and had her belongings taken away. “I feared for my life,” she said. She also alleged that the rapper sexually assaulted her in 2019, leaving her “in shock.”
Soulja Boy’s legal team has dismissed her claims as “inconsistent” and lacking evidence. The rapper previously denied the allegations in 2021, stating, “I vehemently and unequivocally deny these allegations. I am in contact with my legal team and the appropriate legal action will be taken against these lies,” per TMZ.
