Baka Not Nice has opened up about the pivotal conversation he had with Drake regarding Kendrick Lamar’s diss track, “Not Like Us.” In an interview with Hot Freestyle, the rapper and former bodyguard to the Canadian superstar shared insights into the ongoing rivalry between two of hip-hop’s most prominent figures.

Reflecting on Lamar’s references to his past, Baka expressed a surge of emotions that initially compelled him to retaliate. “My instinct was to respond swiftly and assertively,” he recounted. “Coming from my background, it’s unacceptable to call someone out without substantial evidence. The fact that this narrative gained traction is astonishing.”

Baka’s frustration peaked as he noted the widespread acceptance of Lamar’s claims, which he deemed unfounded. “It’s perplexing,” he continued. “We both have children, and to make such serious allegations is beyond comprehension.” Fortunately, a timely conversation with Drake helped him regain perspective. “I was on the verge of letting my anger take over,” he explained. “Then, I received a call from Drake, and it felt almost divine. He said, ‘I understand your feelings, but don’t pay attention to the noise—it’s just noise.’”

Baka Dismisses Allegations, Says Drake Helped Him Stay Grounded

Drake’s words resonated with Baka, who appreciated the reminder to prioritize his well-being over public opinion. “He advised me not to let it affect me,” Baka shared, adding, “Most of the critics aren’t even authentic; they’re just bots online.”

In dismissing Kendrick’s allegations, Baka stated, “Eventually, people will come to their senses and realize the absurdity of these claims. They’ll do their own research and see that this narrative is entirely fabricated. It’s odd to me.” Concluding with a message directed at the public, Baka asserted, “To everyone out there: you need to get your facts straight before making serious accusations. Having substantial proof is essential—it’s the fundamental principle.”

The controversy escalated when Kendrick accused Drake of inappropriate behavior while also referencing Baka in a line questioning his character. The “weird case” mentioned pertains to Baka’s past legal troubles, including a 2014 arrest for assault and firearm violations, which culminated in a brief prison sentence. Although charges related to prostitution and trafficking were later dismissed due to a lack of testimony from the alleged victim, the incident continues to haunt his reputation.
