After his appearance at WWE’s Elimination Chamber, Travis Scott just might be switching careers.
Joining Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and John Cena in the ring at the highly-anticipated event, Scott said he is “hooked’ on wrestling.
“Bro, this might be better than, low-key, performing,” Scott, 33, said in a video shared on X on March 4. “It was like a whole ‘nother vibe. Yo, it was so crazy because in the ring I was like, ‘We about to be straight bad guys.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, it’s about to hit.’ “
Triple H told Scott to wait until he wrestled in the ring himself, but he was already bitten by the bug. He’s even planning to build his own wrestling ring at his home.
“I’m going back to the H [his hometown of Houston] tonight. I’m going to the ring tomorrow! I’m about to build a ring in all the cribs,” he said.
At a press conference following the event, Johnson spoke about Scott’s in-ring performance, Variety reported.
“He wanted to get his hands bloody,” The Rock explained. “I whispered to him as he was going out [to the ring]. I said, ‘if you’re gonna get your hands bloody, make it count. Make it count. He slapped the s— of Cody tonight. He was really, really hyped up.”
He loves the business,” the Moana actor continued. “We get guys and girls like that who want to come in and who are already tapping in culture and disrupting culture in their own cool way. Maybe they want to sit and enjoy, maybe they want to be on camera.”
“But then some want to get involved and then some, like Travis, deeply want to get involved. And that’s what you saw tonight.”
While in the “squared circle”, Scott apparently caused a real injury to Cody Rhodes during their brief confrontation.
Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio suggested the injury was real and not a part of the event’s script.
“Cody got hurt. I’m pretty sure it was Travis Scott that did it,” Meltzer said noting “he’d heard Rhodes suffered a busted eardrum and a black eye..” Reportedly, Rhodes was treated at a local hospital and discharged, although WWE has yet to confirm the injury.
